Google Business Profile: a complete guide for businesses in Norway
· 1 min read
Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is often the customer's first contact with your brand. Before anyone visits your site, they compare ratings, photos and opening hours in your Google profile, in local results and on Maps.
Complete your profile 100 percent: a name matching your real business name, primary and secondary categories, description, service area, services, hours (including holidays), phone number, website link and up-to-date photos (team, jobs, premises). The more complete the profile, the better the chance of ranking higher in local results.
Post updates regularly and reply to reviews, including critical ones. A fast, courteous reply builds trust and shows the company is active. Do not buy reviews or offer rewards for positive ratings: it breaks Google's rules and can lead to reviews being removed or the profile suspended.
Connect the profile to a well-optimised site so users can go straight to your offer or form. NAP data (name, address, phone) must be identical on your site, in your profile and in directories. Monitor profile insights: calls, clicks and direction requests.
We describe examples of such implementations at nettivo.no/tjenester. Want to tidy up your profile and get more contacts from Google Maps? Write to Nettivo via nettivo.no/kontakt and we will prepare a checklist and implement it step by step.
